Meet Management

Accountability has been distributed so broadly that no individual can reasonably be located.

The AwfulWorld Group is led by a carefully assembled team of individuals who were already in the same kingdom, which need not be named or identified. Together, they bring decades of experience in making decisions, questioning those decisions, and proceeding anyway with little regard for the outcome.

01 · Authority Requires No Explanation

His Majesty

Chairman and Chief of Security and Loud Barking

His Majesty presides over The AwfulWorld Group and personally investigates deliveries, unfamiliar footsteps, and disturbances that other members of management insist they cannot hear. His decisions are final, although occasionally reversed by cheese.

His Majesty is royalty. This has been accepted as sufficient documentation. The precise nature of his title has never been established, and requests for clarification have been interpreted as requests to leave.

These are his corporate responsibilities. His royal title remains beyond the scope of inquiry.

02 · Operational Authority

The Princess

Co-Founder, Chief Operating Officer & Director of Residential Affairs

The Princess is in charge, regardless of what the rest of management thinks, knows, or remembers being told.

She oversees renovations, woodland labor relations, and travel arrangements across insufficiently specified centuries. Holds an advanced qualification from YouTube University and considers the phrase “how hard could it be?” an acceptable project proposal.

03 · Strategic Confidence

The Prince

Co-Founder & Chief Executive of Questionable Decisions

Responsible for technology, strategic direction, and determining whether something can be fixed without hiring anyone. Oversees seven contractor gnomes whose striking resemblance to him has raised questions Human Resources declines to investigate.

The Prince believes he is in charge. The Princess has determined that allowing this belief to continue is an acceptable management strategy.

04 · Hourly Representation

The Foregnome

Hourly Supervisor, Union Shop Steward & Liaison to Executive Management

Represents the International Brotherhood of Woodland Trades & Extended Breaks, Local 7 in all dealings with executive management. His supervisory title does not constitute salaried status, and any suggestion otherwise will result in a grievance.

Appointed after demonstrating an exceptional ability to watch six other people work, The Foregnome oversees labor relations, benefit negotiations, and scheduled inactivity. As both supervisor and shop steward, he occasionally files grievances against his own instructions.

His resemblance to The Prince is officially coincidental and administratively inconvenient. The remaining six gnomes report to him, although none recall agreeing to this.

All communication between the union and executive management passes through his office, provided he is on the clock. After-hours disputes will remain disputed until his next scheduled shift.

Corporate Overview · Scope Deliberately Broad

Our Business

The AwfulWorld Group oversees a diverse portfolio of activities, interests, and ongoing matters. Through its various departments and affiliated enterprises, the Company identifies opportunities, authorizes initiatives, and maintains a presence wherever its involvement has already been assumed.

Its operations encompass residential affairs, technical infrastructure, cultural interests, labor relations, and security. These functions support the Company’s core business, the precise nature of which remains commercially sensitive.

Although individual projects may appear unrelated, management considers them part of a coordinated strategy. The strategy is reviewed periodically to ensure that it continues to account for whatever the Company has recently done.

Frequently Requested Clarifications

What does the Company produce?
Outcomes. Their form varies according to circumstances and the department preparing the report. We get stuff done. The nature of “the stuff” remains irrelevant; that we get it done is all that really matters.
Who are its customers?
The Company serves a broad range of interested parties, some of whom have not yet been informed of the relationship.
Where does it operate?
Primarily within its area of operations, with selective activity elsewhere.
How does it generate revenue?
Management distinguishes between generating revenue and discussing revenue-generating opportunities. Current activity is concentrated in the latter. The Company’s profitability is not discussed publicly, privately, or really at all. “Profitable” permits several meanings and interpretations, and management is still working to identify the least unlikely one.
Is it a holding company?
The Company is currently holding several meetings, a number of unresolved positions, and equipment belonging to someone who has stopped asking for it back. Although not a holding company in the traditional or legal sense, it maintains an affiliation with an enterprise understood to involve an older brother and a holding company. The precise family connection remains unclear, as does the status of a longstanding request for divine assistance in acquiring a Mercedes-Benz, a color television, or both.

The Company’s continued operation should not be confused with an obligation to explain it.

Corporate History · Chronology Under Review

Selected Milestones

The Company was founded by The Prince and The Princess. Accounts differ as to whose idea it was, who did the work, and whether the founding occurred before or after operations began. The Princess considers the first two questions settled.

The following events are presented in an order management considers plausible. Their inclusion should not be interpreted as confirmation that other events did not occur first.

  1. In the beginning — Operations commenced.

The Company began conducting activities subsequently recognized as Company business. Whether the Company existed before those activities remains a matter for the records department, which was established afterward.

  2. During an early period — Leadership was established.

The Princess assumed responsibility. The Prince announced that he had delegated it.

  3. Following a noise — Security was formalized.

His Majesty identified a threat and appointed himself to investigate. His authority predates the paperwork.

  4. As requirements increased — Departments emerged.

Existing problems were assigned names, reporting structures, and occasionally furniture.

  5. More recently, depending on the calendar — Modernization accelerated.

The Company adopted technologies previously tested by several generations of other organizations. Inadvertent time travel has since made those generations difficult to distinguish, and several systems classified as obsolete have yet to be invented in the department currently using them.

  6. To date — Continued existence was confirmed.

An internal review found sufficient evidence to justify another internal review.

Further historical details will be released as they become available, recoverable, or necessary to support a current decision.

Mission & Corporate Principles

Our mission

The AwfulWorld Group exists to document events, interpret them selectively, and present the results with confidence disproportionate to the available evidence. We strive to produce meaningful content regardless of demand, necessity, or broad social benefit, while preserving management’s freedom to determine what any of those words mean.

How We Intend to Fulfill Our Mission

About AwfulWorld

The AwfulWorld Group conducts its affairs with considerable confidence and documentation of varying availability. Its precise jurisdiction remains an internal matter.

The Prince and The Princess oversee AwfulWorld’s affairs under an arrangement whose origins remain unclear. Records identifying their kingdom, the dates of their reign, or the extent of their authority have either been lost or were never considered necessary. Management regards their titles as sufficient documentation.
